Review: Ballad of NOD

Imagine if you had a teddy bear that was your best friend that helped get you through the bad times and kept the bad things away. Imagine that bear awoke at night to protect you from monsters, now imagine the monsters took your friend away. What would you do?

Ballad of Nod by Kira and James Burton

once in a while a story comes along that touches your heart in a very special way Ballad of Nod is one of those stories first and foremost the writing of this comic is a master class in how to tell an emotionally charged story without giving too much away James and Kira take you on an emotional roller coaster told through the love between a little girl and her teddy bear I literally teared up while reading the story James verton once again proves why he’s one of my favorite artists his style really generates the right atmosphere for this story I also quite enjoyed his sparse use of bright colors to highlight important points of the story that is always a really good technique in comics in my opinion I give this book nine out of 10 capes books like this are why the comic book medium exists so you don’t want to miss this one check it out when available thanks for watching and until next time don’t let your cape caught in the door
